David Cameron visited the new housing development of Boxgrove Gardens on the Epsom Road to announce his new scheme to allow buyers of new homes to borrow up to 95% of their value.

Guildford Borough Council has become the first district council to achieve a triple A credit rating. Guildford now joins the few councils in the UK that have asked for this assessment and the first to achieve a AAA Stable credit rating from international ratings agency Moody’s Investors Service.

It has been announced that the London 2012 Olympic Flame will pass through Guildford and Shere on Friday 20th July!

In fact Stoke Park in Christchurch will be at the centre of the festivities as an evening celebration event will take place there to welcome the Olympic Flame.

Proposals were agreed unanimously at on 20th October as a first step for a new high quality bus station.

However, no decisions will be made before the proposals are developed in significantly greater detail together with extensive public engagement throughout next year.
