Work has started for the new entertainment centre in Guildford. Demolition of the former Civic Hall started in August and was completed in September . The site is now clear and the foundations for the new entertainment centre under way. The first bricks for the new centre were laid
The contractors Willmott Dixon Construction marked the occasion by inviting Andrew Hodges, as Leader of the Council together with the Mayor to a formal event when the name was ceremonial removed from the old building. Andrew Hodges thanked all those involved in all the work leading up to the signing of the contract and the start of work on site. The first bricks for the new centre were laid in early November.
It is great that work has started on what will be a fantastic first rate facility for the Guildford Community. We look forward to the opening in 2011.
